What We Pass On
Our children don’t just inherit our genes. They inherit our definitions of love, strength, and worth.
They learn by watching:
How we treat tired bodies
How we respond to discomfort
How we show up for the people we love
That rainy night didn’t erase my husband’s past. But it reframed it. It allowed him to hold compassion for the child he once was—and responsibility for the parent he’s becoming.
And it reminded me that sometimes the most important realizations don’t come in therapy rooms or family confrontations.
They come quietly.
In cold rain.
With heavy bags.
When you finally stop walking long enough to see the truth.
